Dog Day Care (my thoughts)

Do you have a dog and are thinking about sending them to day care? Do you work all day and leave your dog at home wondering if they get lonely. Well I’m going to tell you what I think of Dog or Doggie Day Care.

My thoughts on Dog Day Care is this, I think it is awesome. It’s the best thing I could’ve done for my dog. I have a 8 year old Golden Retriever, named Abigail, who is a very timid dog. So I didn’t think she would do well at Day Care. But I decided to give it a try. The place I take my dog said she had to pass the evaluation before she could start going to day care. The evaluation is a couple of hours spent at the day care without the owner around so they can see how your dog is around other dogs without you there. Guess what? Abigail passed her evaluation! I was really nervous that she wouldn’t just because she does get anxious around other dogs. But the owners of the day care said she did great and that she passed.

I started noticing a difference in Abigail in just a couple of weeks of taking her there. I started out taking her only half a day and I noticed a big difference when we have her around other dogs. Even one of the girls who works at the day care noticed that she was getting more comfortable walking in. I felt like a proud mom when she said that. After a couple of weeks of going to day care we decided to take her to the dog park. Abigail was great with the other dogs at the park. She even ran around playing with one of the dogs there. I truly feel like taking her to day care has helped her so much with her anxiety and that it will continue to help.

So my review on dog day care is that I highly suggest every dog owner to take their dog to one. Especially if you work all day, your best friend doesn’t have to wait at home all day for you. They can go have a play date with their new dog friends at the day care. It will also make you feel better knowing that your dog is with their friends and with great people taking care of them. I think if you have a puppy that it’s awesome if you decide to take them to day care, when they are ready to interact with other dogs of course. That way they get socialized when they are little and are used to being around other dogs.IMG_6888DSC_1311

Spring

Spring is amazing. Spring is so beautiful. Everything in nature comes to life during spring. Spring has the perfect weather. I feel the most inspired during Spring. I love to take photos of the flowers blooming and of the rivers when they are full. Spring is full of inspiration. Just look around you, everything is coming to life and has color. IMG_4107

I love taking my dog for walks in the Spring, she loves it too. Where I live we have a beautiful park that the river runs through. My dog just loves to stop in the shade and look at the water. I do too, rivers are just so peaceful. I know she wishes she could go in but sadly the current there is too strong. But don’t worry we have a little pool we fill up at home and she goes in as soon as we get home.

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy summer too. But I am not a hot weather type of person. I enjoy going to the beach. But I can’t just lay in the sand all day trying to get a tan. Which I never get a tan because I am very fair. I’d much rather go on a hike or a nature walk with my fur baby. But it gets way to hot during the summer to go. That’s why I enjoy Spring so much more. The weather is perfect during Spring, usually 70 to 80 degrees. It’s cool enough to enjoy the outdoors and everything is beautiful during the Spring. There is so much color during Spring time, whereas in the summer the heat just drains all of the beautiful colors out of nature.

But I would love to know what your favorite season is. Why is it your favorite season? Do you have any favorite memories from that season?

Feeling discouraged

Hello all! I know it’s been well a long time since I’ve posted on here. I really want to start writing again. But lately I’ve been stuck in a rut and can’t seem to get out. I have lost all of my creativity. All of my energy and time has been on school and trying to find a job. School has been fine, I actually really enjoy the online course that I’m in. But trying to find a job in a specialized field when you live in a small town and you have very little experience is extremely difficult. It can drain you. Every day I wake up and go online to see if anyone has a posted a job. Then if someone has I rush to fill out an application then I take it the company and I wait and wait. I still have not found a job and it can be very discouraging even when everyone around you is saying ‘don’t get discouraged, God has something better for you just keep applying”. When no one is hiring you why would you want to keep trying? How are you supposed to not feel discouraged? How are you supposed to write when you are feeling discourage and all of the creativity is being drained out of you? I want this blog to be a place where I can share my life with you in hopes to not feel so alone. I also want this blog to be a fun place where we can talk about all of the things we enjoy. I want this blog to be a place free from judgement. But right now I feel like I have no inspiration. I don’t even know what to talk about right now. But I’m going to try. I want to start writing again and I will.

Makeup Favorites

Happy Thursday everyone! It’s almost the weekend, yay. I hope you all had an amazing but productive week so far. This is my very first post about makeup. So I’m going to tell you all about my favorites. I hope you enjoy reading about them.

I feel like I’ve got a good mixture of drugstore and high end makeup favorites. Now let me say this, I kind of stick to drugstore foundations because I feel like some of them work just as well as high end. So I don’t really test out high end foundations that often. But I do love testing out high end eyeshadows and finding my new favorites. That’s just what I peter to spend my money on.

My mom has always told me not to wear to much face makeup. When I was younger( like in high school) she wouldn’t let me try liquid foundation. I could only use powder foundation, which I was fine with. I mean I was only going to school with people I would never see again after graduation. Then I was just coming home. I never really had bad skin during high school so I was like ok sure. And actually I never really got into makeup until after high school anyway. I was never that girl who was completely obsessed with makeup in high school. I only really knew the basics. Powder, concealer(sometimes), blush, eyeshadow and mascara. That was it.

It wasn’t until I graduated, turned 18 and started watching YouTube that I really started to get into makeup. But now I love it. It’s not so much as oh I NEED to put on makeup everyday. It’s more like I want to put on makeup because I enjoy it. It’s like a hobby for me now, it’s fun.

So let’s get onto my favorites. Let’s start with face products first. My favorite primer at the moment is Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer. Casey Holmes on YouTube recommended this primer and she has really oily skin just like me and I trust her recommendations 100%. So I decided to give it a try and I can honestly say I do think this has changed my foundation routine. I feel like it really does make my foundation last a lot longer. Yes it’s high end but I can honestly say it works great for my skin. Now my favorite foundation at the moment is drugstore. It’s the Maybelline Fit Me! Matte and Poreless liquid foundation. I truly think this foundation is amazing. It doesn’t make me more oily then I already am. It covers up everything. Now I will say that wherever you touch the most on your face the foundation does come off. But I can look past that. Next is powder I use the matching Fit Me! powder because I do think they work well together and keep me pretty matte throughout the day. The powder is called Fit me! Matte and Poreless and I think it works great.

For concealer I use the DreamLumi touch highlighting concealer by Maybelline. You will see in this post how much I like maybelline. I think they are one of the best drugstore makeup brands out there. For blush I use the NYX Ombre Blush. I think this is a pretty good blush. You do need to use a light hand for this. But I think the color is beautiful and they stay on all day. Which I think is pretty impressive.

My eyeshadow favorite has been Too Faced Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette. I love this palette. I think the eyeshadows are amazing. This is my first ever Too Faced Palette and I already hit pan on it. I would love to try all of Too Faced eyeshadow palettes. My favorite mascara right now is Maybelline Lash Sensational Full Fan Effect mascara. I heard Zoe Zugg aka Zoella on YouTube rave about it so I just had to give it a try. I really love it, I think it’s one of the best Mascaras.

I thought I would share with you my favorite drugstore beauty blender dupe as well. It the beauty blender from Elf. I got it as a Christmas present last year, they came in a set of three and I think they work pretty darn good for a drugstore dupe. To set my face I’ve been loving Maybelline Master fix by Facestudio. I think it works great and keeps my makeup in place pretty much all day.

So there you have it my current makeup favorites. I hope you have enjoyed learning what I’ve been loving recently. Let me know what your recent favorites are in the comments. I would love to know. Thank you for reading. I hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week.

Why I stopped attending Community College

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend. Did you do anything exciting this weekend? I would love to hear what you did in the comments. Me? Well I didn’t do much, we went to the “big city” near me. But other then that I didn’t do much. But I did have a great Monday and Tuesday. I got to play with puppies when I went to volunteer. That always makes my day.

But lets get started on why I stopped going to Community College. Let me just say that college is great. Even Community College is awesome if you’re not ready for University. I went to a Community College for a year and majored in Business. But I soon realized that college wasn’t for me. My dad wanted me to major in Business because he thought it would help me in the career I wanted to work in. Which was helping animals in any way I can. I did agree that it would probably help me in my career.

But I was not enjoying college at all. My anxiety got the best of me and I hated attending class. I would always sit in the back corner hoping no one would talk to me and that the instructor would not call on me. I was like that all throughout high school and I was hoping by moving to a different state and not knowing anyone at college would help my anxiety.

Boy was I so wrong. If it did anything at all it made my anxiety worse. I never wanted to leave the house. When I got home my parents could tell something wasn’t right. So we decided that I would take a year off school to focus on my health. Which we did but it went a little…over a year. I did everything I could to not have to go back to college. I finally convinced my parents to allow me to go to an online school for something that I would really enjoy.

So that’s exactly what I’m doing. This has been the first time I actually can’t wait to start school. Because this time it’s for something I’m passionate about and that I absolutely love. Plus it’s online so I don’t have to go to class with a bunch of random people I don’t know. But I still get social interaction because my classes will require some form of it online.

Don’t get me wrong, I think college is awesome. I think if it’s something you want to do then do it and do let anyone tell you that you won’t make it. Because you can absolutely make it. But for someone who has major social anxiety..college just isn’t the best.

I hope you enjoyed my college experience. Please leave any college experiences that you have in the comments. I would love to hear your stories. I also have a set schedule now. So I will post every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 5pm.

The majority said Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

But I would love to hear from you! Please leave your suggestions in the comments.

Morning Devotions

Since it’s Faith Friday I thought I would share my morning Devotions with you. I grew up in a Christian household. We always went to church Sunday morning, we still do. I am a 20 year old girl who is Christian. But I have been through tough times in my life that made me question my faith. As I’m sure we all have.

But I have recently hit a really low point in my life where I didn’t really want to be around anyone. I didn’t want to go outside. I stopped praying and reading my bible. I honestly don’t even know why. Nothing major happened recently. That was just how I felt. I knew part of the reason was my anxiety.  But one day I decided to say no I’m not going to keep living like this, always being afraid, never wanting to leave my house. I NEEDED God and I knew I needed him. So I continually prayed to God and got back into my morning Devotions.

That has been the best decision I’ve ever made. As soon as I get up in the morning a make a little breakfast because I’m always starving when I wake up. Then I go back in my room get out my Devotions and my Bible and start praying. I now can’t wait to wake up and start my day with God.

Yes my anxiety is still there. But spending time with God first thing in the morning takes some of the anxious feeling about the day ahead away. I’m able to step out of the house not feeling as anxious knowing that God is always with me and will always take care of me. I do not need to be afraid.

The Devotions I have been reading are Devotional Journal for Every Day of the Year By Sarah Young  Jesus Calling- ENJOYING PEACE in HIS PRESENCE.

The second one is by Joyce Meyer Starting Your day right- Devotions for Each Morning of the Year

Proverbs 3:5 says “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.”
